Class shedules for week of 12/21

Monday 12/21
TFL gets an early Christmas present! Today we will watch a film entitled "How it Works". The video presents info. on a number of different automotive topics, focusing on how differnt things work.
Auto I will discuss questions from EP 46 and 51.
Auto II will work in the shop.

Tuesday 12/22
All classes will clean the shop.

Some pics from Auto II






Pictured is an under floor master cylinder mount we made for our '40 chevy pickup project. This will allow us to use a much safer dual master cylinder rather than the original single unit.

The students have also been busy with projects like: getting there vehicles ready for the cold weather, building grille guards, painting a tool box for a pickup, rebuilding a trailer axle for the woodshop, installing a leveling kit on a pickup, installing the rebuilt head on our '52 chevy pickup project...in other words, not much down time here :) !

Auto I week of 12/7

Students read and answered questions on pages EP7, 15 and 16. This chapter deals with piston engine basics.
Students were then assigned to read EP19-29 and answer questions on pages EP24, 26 and 29. These questions will be collected and discussed Monday 12/14.
Thursday the 10th and Friday the 11th will be work days in the shop.
Monday 12/14 or Tuesday 12/15 students will be given a take home test over the chapters on piston engine basics and diagnosis. They can use their books to answer these questions. They will be collected Wed. 12/16.
Thursday the 17th and Friday the 18th will be spent working in the shop.

New section of TFL begins 12/7

A new section of Tools For Life started Monday 12/7. The students should have read pages HB3-HB15. Questions on pages HB8, 15 and 16 have been collected and grades will be posted.
This first chapter discusses the various ways to get involved in the automotive industry as a career. We also discussed some very basic automotive history and touched briefly on the different automotive systems.
The week of 12/14 we will be reading pages HB19-31 and doing the questions on pages 23, 26, 31 and 32.
This chapter deals with safety in the auto shop.
